Dutchtown leads the way in class 5A boys power rankings
Power Rankings are determined based on scoring the top 20 ranked performances in each event. Best performance gets 20 points, 2nd best gets 19, etc...down to 20th best gets 1 point. This gives us an idea of who the best overall team is in the state, but it is not necessarily a predictor of who will win the state meet. For power rankings it's helpful to have depth as well as star power versus at the state meet often times star power goes a little further. Fortunately, GHSA made the state meet a little more team oriented by adding the 4x200m and 4x800m relays in the past couple of years, but an all star individual will be more valuable at state than it will in these rankings.
