We are now officially one week away from the 2022 GHSA State Cross Country Championships! And with it comes a large amount of both excitement and nerves. But before we look ahead to next week with all of our coverage focused on polls, previews, and rankings, let's take a look back at what the top athletes have done on this course in the last decade. Why are we only going back to 2012, you ask? Well for those who need a history lesson, Carrollton is actually the 3rd location to host the state meet. But it has been the home of the meet for what I like to call the "modern era" of Georgia High School Cross Country. It started hosting in 1994 and has had 3 main versions, with minor variations, of the course during that time period. From 1994-2002 there was version 1 which was a harder version, comparable to what we have now.
