Things got started on Friday with the 1600. Anna Blaich and William Carlton got the sweep for Decatur. Decatur's girls got the win in the 4x800 while Southwest Dekalb won the boys 4x800m relay. In fact, SWD's boys won all four relays! They're also currently ranked in the top 6 in all four relays in all of Georgia, including #1 in the 4x200 and the 4x400. Their 4x2 ranks #2 all time in Georgia and their 4x4 ran just 0.04 off the all time top ten list. That's a truly impressive showing so far and it will be fun to see what they can do at the state meet. Decatur girls got the win in the 4x200.

In the field events Alex Watson and Liza Love won the high jumps. Colin Beverly and Clara Silvestri won the Pole Vault. Isaiah Reeves and Sydni Thomas won the discus while Jack Woods and Coriana Gresham won the shot put. In the long jump Kenric Lanier and Sariah Williams took the titles while Nathan Jovanovic and Naomi Johnson got the wins in the triple jump.

Then on Saturday the meet concluded with the running finals. Decatur girls also won the 4x100 while SWD took the boys title. Then Madison Maxey won the 100m hurdles and Isaiah Taylor picked up the win in the boys 110m hurdles. Then in the 400 Xzaviah Taylor, Isaiah's twin, won it while Jordyn Parker took the win in the girls 400. Ali Dargan and Solai Washington took the win in the 100 followed by Jake Westing and Gabriella Burton getting the wins in the 800. Then Parker and Dargan got the sweep again in the 200 and in the 300 girls hurdles Naa Adua Annan claimed the region title.

But then in the boys 300m hurdles we saw some serious fireworks. Isaiah and Xzaviah met for the first time all meet and the twins did not disappoint in a thrilling race that saw Isaiah almost crack the top ten all time in Georgia. 36.85 is a heck of a time. In the 3200 Carlton and Blaich got their 2nd region title of the weekend and then to wrap things up Chamblee won the girls 4x4 and SWD put up a 3:14 in the boys 4x4. It was a meet that showcased lots of speed and star power. We've got two more "regions of doom" to over in the next few days so stay tuned!
