Katelynn Dollar Named Gatorade Girls XC Runner of the Year

Katelynn Dollar winning the meet of champions.

Katelynn Dollar has been named the Gatorade Georgia Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year. Dollar was only beaten by Georgia girls once this year, early in the season when she placed 9th at the Wingfoot XC Classic. But she came out swinging for the fences in the postseason. She started off by winning the Meet of Champions and then really showed up with her 18th place finish at the Eastbay South Regional, a race that saw her competing for top 10 and a trip to nationals the entire way. And finally, she finished it off by running a 17:30 at the Garmin RunningLane championships, the fastest time be a Georgia girl this year. She is only a sophomore and has competed for GAPPS for her first two years of high school, but she will be attending Creekview next year which will create an amazing showdown in the loaded 6A girls field.
