2019 2A Girls state meet video
Girls Team Breakdown
The Favorites
Pace- The Knights from Pace have led in the rankings all season. They appear to have few weaknesses. They have 5 athletes that can all finish in the top 10 on Saturday. They have proven to be consistent this season and have a little bit of room for error with a 6 and 7 who can both finish in the top 25 overall. With a potential split under 90 seconds, the Knights are poised to take the AA crown.
Lovett- The Lovett Ladies could give the Pace a challenge if they run to their potential on Saturday. Their low stick could be in the mix for the individual crown, and with a powerful pack, they will be ready if the Knights from Pace slip up. They, unlike many of our other AA squads, have run against the larger metro-area powerhouses all year long, so they will not be intimidated at the line. Getting their 1-5 split down would go a long way in trying to pry the Knights off of the top step on the podium.
Bleckley- 'Underdog' has not been a usual position for the Royals going into early November since 2A became a 'Public' class. No one on the squad remembers anything other than hoisting that big silver trophy after a state race. Will this be the year that changes? Bleckley brings a squad of both experienced competitors and athletes new to the scene. They will need Crosby to lead a few of her teammates into the top 10 in order to oust one of the teams mentioned above. Look for the Royals to run a patient race and be in position late to take advantage of any weaknesses shown from other teams.
The Podium Contenders
Jeff Davis- The Yellowjackets know how to run in Carrollton. Throughout this season they have made steady progress to this point where they are in contention to finish in a podium position. They will lean on their pack strength as a guide to a high placing.
Oglethorpe- The Patriots come in with a powerful trio up front. If they can find some support from their 4 and 5, the ladies from Oglethorpe will be the team to beat for the 4th podium position. They have little room for error.
Top 10 Contenders- Vidalia, Rabun, Bremen, Fannin, Coosa, Banks, Union.

Sydney Lamberson (Lovett) - With a season-best of 19:07, Lamberson was on the heels of the favorite Arenth during their region championship. Lamberson has shown good progression throughout the season and looks to be in shape to test her fitness on the slopes of Carrollton. She will hope to hang onto the
Tristian Crosby (Bleckley) - With a season-best of 20:02, Crosby will come in hungry to improve upon her 2nd place from last year.
