Oconee County Track and Field fans enjoyed bringing their canvas folding chairs out to watch Jordan Scott soar to new heights in the Pole Vault. I was there the night he cleared 16-8 at a quad meet (and he literally did it in the dark!) Scott was the first Georgia HS boy to clear 17-0 his junior year at Golden South in 2005 and is tied for #2 on the All-Time list. Born in Daytona Beach, FL, Jordan attended Oconee County HS in Watkinsville, where he attempted to hurdle and tried a couple of other events, but found his talent was in the Pole Vault. After 3 consecutive State titles, Jordan made the trek to Lawrence, Kansas becoming a Jayhawk, where he earned a degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business and a Master's in Sport Management. While competing for Kansas, Scott claimed seven Big 12 titles and the 2010 Outdoor NCAA Championship. Vaulting as a professional in 2013, Jordan took the USA Indoor Championship and competed at the Olympic Trials. His personal best was 18-8.75 at the Texas Relays. Let's check in with Jordan..

3 state titles. Pole Vault. 2004, 2005, 2006.
Where did you compete at in college and how you fare there?
University of Kansas. 7time Big XII Champion.
2010 NCAA Outdoor Champion.
What were the highlights of your pro career.
2013 USA Indoor Champion
Finalist at 3 Olympic Trials. 2008, 2012, 2016.
What about your journey from post graduation to where you are now?
Graduated in fall of 2010.
Finished eligibility in Spring 2011
Attended grad school in Sport Management 2011-2013 while working as a GA in the I.T. Dept of KU Athletics.
Married my favorite KU teammate, Julia in 2013
Graduated with my Masters in 2013, then started working full-time in the I.T. from 2013 to 2014 until stepping down to focus on vaulting full-time through the 2016 Trials.
Started a web design business to offset the financial burden of being a pro vaulter.
Retired after the 2016 Olympic Trials and started working with an old college teammate who started an escape room business, and I'm now the Marketing & Sales Director for 9+ small box entertainment locations.
