Brookwood Sweeps Team and Individual Titles at Gwinnett County

Zunair Manzoor leads the Broncos to an another team title as he took the Overall win in 15:51.95

Brookwood poured it on Saturday at the International Horse Park course scoring 54 points, with a team average of 16:27. Manzoor (C) led the way winning Overall honors in 15:51, Sr. Jordan Bullock (3rd fr/left) had a breakout race taking 3rd place at 16:03, and Patrick Smith (red shirt) placed 5th in 16:11. 

Chase Condra from Peachtree Ridge earned Overall runnerup with a 15:59 performance.

Jordan Bullock has improved greatly from 2015, as he ran :55 faster than 2015 clocking a 16:03 for 3rd Overall.

Central Gwinnett's Alex Avalos had a great race placing 4th overall for the Black Knights in 16:11.27.

Patrick Smith made it 3 Broncs' in the top 5 as he raced to 5th a step behind Avalos in 16:11.78

Mill Creek's tighter 1-5 Split of :45, made the difference in taking 2nd place as a team by 10 points. Stephen Velezquez's 9th place finish led the Hawks.

Collins Hill was a strong 3rd with a team average of 16:57. The Eagles were sparked by Merrick Rizzo's 8th place finish of 16:33

Varsity Girls


Brookwood's Girls who were ranked 8th All-Class after Week 4, should ascend the ladder after their performance Saturday at the Horse Park. The Lady Broncs pulled the upset over #2 Mill Creek winning by 14 points. The key to victory was the top 5 placing in the first 14 spots crossing the mats with a team average of 19:49 and 1-5 Split of 1:28. Coach Chris Carter commented after the meet, "God has blessed me with a great group of kids to coach and very supportive parents to work with. The girls have worked hard, and I was glad they got the win. I am proud of the way the girls competed in the heat yesterday, from our number 1 girl to our number 133. Lauren ran a great race. She's working harder than she ever has, putting in more miles than she ever has, and I was very glad that it paid off for her."

Lauren Flynt flew to the Overall win for Brookwood posting a solid 18:52 on the Horse Park layout.

Mary Kathryn Knott of The Ridge, continues to race well taking Overall runnerup at 18:57.

Lyndsey Fowler from North Gwinnett (R) outlasts Sara Scales of Mill Creek by .07 clocking a 19:09.62.

Dacula's Skylar English turned in a 5th place performance of 19:22.

Mill Creek foursome poses with their medals and 2nd place team hardware.

North Gwinnett had a great race at County this Fall placing 3rd as a team.
