Anna Marian Block Goes 19:04 at North Oconee

Varsity Girls

Anna Marian Block began her season by winning the Varsity Girls race in 19:04. Audrey Honiotes from Hart County stayed in contact in her first outing, taking 2nd in 19:15. Mackenzie Morse of host North Oconee, placed 3rd in 19:57. North Oconee took a surprising team win over St. Pius (who may have been getting their feet wet on the 8-AAAA region course. Pius took 2nd on a 6th runner tiebreak over Hart County led by Morgan Vaden's 20:07.

Varsity Boys

Brady Kalessa of North Oconee, won the Varsity Boys race clocking a 17:17. William White of Clarke Central was runnerup in 17:34. Ryan Iyer. led Athens Academy to the Boys team win, taking 3rd overall in 17:58. North Oconee (missing Anthony Potts) came out in 2nd place, while Clarke Central nabbed 3rd place honors.

MS 2 Mile Coed Race

256 Middle schoolers mixed it up in 95 degree heat in the first race of the afternoon. Last week's MS ROW (Kelsey Morse of Malcom Bridge) dominated the race posting a 13:18, leading the Bolts' to a 10 point team win over rival Oconee MS.

Davis Potts of Malcom Bridge continues to race well, taking 1st individually in 12:33 leading the Bolts' to the team win over George Walton. Max Pearson gave support taking 2nd place at 12:57, followed by Aidan Landrum in 3rd at 13:06.

JV Races

Jennifer Woollery (8th grader) of Providence Christian, opted for the JV race, and won it! She defeated Jane Tullis (a top frosh) from St. Pius clocking a 20:28. (Tullis 20:29) photo by Matthew Caldwell
