I'd learned from my last two years running Footlocker that it goes out ridiculously fast, so I knew I was going to have to let the leaders go. I was somewhere between 15-20th place at the mile, and when I hit the hill a little after that I started actively trying to pick people off. As we headed around the lake I made my way into the top ten, so I sat with a pack for a couple hundred meters before continuing to work, up to try and secure my top ten finish as much as possible. Especially after last years disappointing finish, I couldn't be happier with how it went. It is even sweeter knowing that Emma Grace, Savannah, and I all will get to go together, after pushing each other all season. I was so proud to be a part of Team Georgia on Saturday, and hope to represent the south well at Nationals!
