That 2 week rest from racing was just what the doctor ordered for defending Champ Dunwoody as the Wildcats were frisky and on the prowl Saturday, scoring 77 points and placing 3 gals on the 5A All-State squad. Their soph duo took advantage of the course not being too trampled by A Private. Samantha Cameron won the Overall title in 20:26, followed by Kelly Mae Sheehan, in 2nd at 20:33, and Sr Ansley Heavern who crossed 8th, posting a 20:52.

Creekview had a strong outing and rose up to take second place, led by Sr Laura Wallin and her 7th place finish of 20:50. Their 2-5 were also key, having a split of only :56. Union Grove left a little disappointed with 3rd place, good enough, though, for a Podium spot. Mackenzie Cromer and Tori Rives led the Wolverines with 14th/15th respectively. The Branch ran to the 4th and final spot, led by soph Erika Plummer and her 17th place effort. Jones County earns a mention, having perhaps their best finish in school history, placing 5th with All-State squad runner frosh Erin Leonard at 20:39. Rounding out the top 10 not mentioned above were: Alyssa Hooker from Lakeside Evans, 3rd (20:36), frosh Kaci Wilson of Winder, 4th (20:36), Mary Valli from Starrs Mill, 6th (20:43), and, from far east GA, Jenn Thorpe from Richmond Hill, 9th (21:01), and Pricilla Cartwright from South Effingham, 10th (21:06)
