Athens Academy hosted its Annual Spartan Ekiden Thursday which was an enjoyabable and quite unique race. Never having attended such an event in all my years, all had a great time and athletes got in a decent midweek work out. Complete Relay results with Splits is coming soon.
White County's 'Green Squad' came out victorious in the Mixed 12K 4 athlete Relay with a winning time of 43:25.45. Host Athens Academy (Green) placed 2nd at 43:55.64 and coming in 3rd was Buford HS at 44:00.39 (Images by Bruce Taylor)
The JV Boys 3000 meter race was won by Walnut Grove's Jaquan Smith in 11:17. Taking the JV Girls win was Janie Williams of Athens Academy in 13:35.
