2A Girls- Lovett Takes Team Title with Tripodi Leading the Way
The Race
After the 'Sprinters' had their "15 seconds" the race quickly became Lovett's and Serena Tripodi's as an individual. Neither outcome was in doubt as the Lions were too fast. strong and deep this Fall. Tripodi easily strolled to the Overall win uncontested in 19:16. Lovett earned 4 All-State nods enroute to scoring 33 points sweeping the prime hardware for their school. Mara Davis placed 4th (20:40), frosh Elizabeth Beveridge was 5th (20:46) and sr Melissa Houghton swiped 8th in 21:08.. This core quartet of Lions was instrumental in winning the team title.

Serena Tripodi led the Lovett Team to victory with her big win in the Girls 2A Championship race.
Meannwhile, the race was on for team runnerup with Darlington and Wesleyan pushing each other to the brink. Darlington struck first having 3 Tigers in the first 9 including: Junior Stephanie Ward taking 2nd (20:18) Lauren Hooper 7th (20:58) and sr Kinslee Clevinger 9th. But, Wesleyan pushed 5 runners into the top 25, as their 2-5 Split made the differnce for 1 point lower than Darlington taking 2nd as a team. Holy Innocents ran to 4th getting the Final deserved Podium spot for2A Girls. Some recognition needs to go southward as Lamar County's XC squad had their best showing in school history placing 6th and tronucing region champ Bleckley by 82 points
Jordan Zimmerman of Wesleyan was cheered by teammates to her Bronze medal.
