East Jackson Boys Defend Their Turf, N.Gwinnett Girls Edge Buford

East Jackson's Chase Kennedy heads downhill leading the Varsity Boys Race
As mentioned the Eagles soared to the team win in the Varsity Boys race defeating highly ranked 5A Alexander by 18 points. Chase Kennedy led the charge again winning inpressively in 16:21. Asked about this race Chase allowed the first 2 miles went good, but the 3rd mile was hard as no one was pushing him along. Sr Noah Hulett finished strong for 2nd in 16:32 pulling away from teamate Chandler Kennedy back in 3rd at 16:47. Vladik Staples also ran well placing 5th in 17:19. Alexander placed 3 runners in the top 9 spots paced by Lance Smith's 17:17 4th place finish. Dacula placed 3rd, Buford 4th teamwise.
GIRLS
Buford's Lauryn Davidson and East Jackson's Sue Anne Moralis duel at Lamar Murphy Park.
Its always nice to have a strong freshman girl with potential as East Jackson does with Sue Anne Moralis. She has now won 3 consecutive races posting a 20:37 today for the Overall win. Buford frosh Lauryn Davidson hung with Moralis nearly the entire race placing 2nd in 20:53 leading the Wolves to 2nd. North Gwinnett won the Girls team title by 3 points led by sophs Lauren Friedman in 3rd (21:10) and Alayna Lamberth 4th (21:40) Alexander came out 3rd in the team standings behind Karleigh Camp's 5th place effort in 21:46.
