2A Girls Pre-Season Top 5 Teams
#1 Wesleyan- It had to be slightly disapointing for Wesleyan when a giant brouhaha occurred that began when someone associated w/ Westminster presented footage/still alarming a reaction ultimately resulting in a reversal of fortune and tie. (which we from south ga liken to kissing your cousin) Wesleyan is loaded, 6 of the top 7 is scheduled to return and defend their 2A title. Wesleyan has a trio of frontrunners back including Jordan Zimmerman, Kylie Reed and Ellie Bradach which ain't too shabby...

#2 Darlington- The Lady Tigers move up to 2A this season after placing 3rd in tough 1A Private and have some hill work in front of them to press Wesleyan. Returning 6 of the top 7 is a great start and with a new coach at the helm they could find themselves recharged perhaps... Their XC rating is a bit skewed due to pr's coming at Asics but solid potential is there. Jr Stephanie Ward is the top returner having made All-State last season (pr of 18:25-Asics) Kinslee Clevenger is a solid #2 placing 19th at State with a pr of 19:43

#3 Lovett- These Gals gave it their all at 2013 State and it was possibly lost that the Lady Lions were a mere 17 points behind co-champions Wesleyan/Westminster. They lost Hailey Branch to graduation, but it was evident (then frosh) Serena Tripodi down in Albany at Girls State is ready to step in her shoes and beyond. Returning 6 of 7 gives Lovett a great base to rise up and challenge for a 2A title this Fall.

#4 Pace Academy- The ladies of Pace Academy had an amazing State meet, seizing the 1A Private state title upsetting Darlington and Providence Christian by 17 points. Returning 6 of their top 7 fastest runners will make them feel right at home in 2A this Fall. Soph Julia Ross is the top returner having placed 17th at State along with a Westover pr of 19:54.

#5 Holy Innocents- There is one indisputable fact about Holy Innocents XC program....a HUGE MS program. I'm not sure if its a required subject, but with so many runners participating there should some talent continuing their running on the HS level. The Lady Golden Bears were 6th in 1A Private returning 5 of their top 7 boding well for a Podium run in 2A. Sr Claire Kelsey is their top returner having placed 18th at State with a pr of 20:01 at Asics.
