In the HS age Girls races (Intermediate and Young) Kathryn Foreman lit it up again warming up for Foot Locker South winning the Intermediate Girls race (15-16) posting a 17:56. Placing 2nd was Savannah Carnahan representing the Lanier Lightning in 18:16. In the 17-18 (Young) Girls race, Peachtree City Flash girls swept the top 3 positions led by Hailey Gollnick in 1st at 19:49, Melanie Hamilt was 2nd in 19:59 and Tarna Zander-Velloso 3rd in 20:27.
In the HS age Boys races the top 4 in the Young Men age group were Andrew Coggins representing the Peachtree Flash in 15:59, Daniel Glick (unattached) was 2nd in 16:09, Quintin Miles of Lanier Lightning was 3rd in 16:13 just nipping Shane Sullivan repping Atlanta Track at 16:13. The Intermediate Boys race was won by Sean Parker of Woodstock Youth in 16:23, Max Warner of Forsyth Flyers placed 2nd in 16:55 and Elijah David Glick (unattached) was 3rd in 17:02.
In the MS Age races (Youth 13-14) one will notice several freshman HS runners who made the age cutoff due to their birthdate. In the Youth Girls race Mary Kellison Thorne (an 8th grader) won the 4K race in a fast time of 15:11, besting freshman Serena Tripodi of Peachtree Flash placing 2nd in 15:15. Milicent Bergey (frosh) placed 3rd in 15:22 for Great Strides and Sarah Foreman came in 4th at 15:41.
True 8th grader Griffin McCauley from Paideia won the Youth Boys 4K race in a smokin' 13:39, besting Joshua Tysor of the Peachtree Flash about 100 meters back in 13:42. In a mad dash for the next 3 places, Zac Cantrell took 3rd in 14:03 edging River Ridge teamate Jacob Brenneman at 14:04, and Harrison Holden of Walton Youth was 5th in 14:06.
