The Chiefs' Girls squad ran well as a team placing their top 5 in the first 14 positions scoring 41 points earning region championship honors. Leading the way was junior Taylor Snell as she placed 4th in 19:53. Teamates Alyssa LeClaire and Rachel Ward crossed 6th and 7th as well. Starrs Mill's Hailey Gollnick led by around 100 meters just before the 2 mile mark and cruised to an individual region title posting a 19:19 helping the Panthers to a runnerup team finish. Northgate was 3rd led by frosh Caroline Nelson's 2nd place finish in 19:41 with Caitlin Bellora 3rd in 19:51. Whitewater earned the final berth to state.

McIntosh had a disapointing 3rd place finish at County, but brought it this morning racing the region title. Spearheading the effort was Josh Mattingly who led at the 2 mile mark fighting off challenges from teamate Taylor Huntley and Whitewater's Jon Raville down the stretch taking the individual title in 16:08. Huntley had more footspeed than Raville the final 50 meters passing him a few meters before the finish placing 2nd in 16:15.28 (Raville 16:15.56) Andrew Yeager's 8th place effort in 16:40 cemented the team win. Starrs placed 3 runners in the top 7 including James Adam in 4th at 16:25, Joshua Warren in 6th at 16:32 and Ryan Phillips 7th in 16:37. Conner Dalrymple of Union Grove automatically q'd placing 5th in 16:27. Whitewater and Union Grove will join the fray at Carrollton next Saturday.
