MAAC Metro Atlanta Athletic Conference held their Middle School Conference Championship at Atlanta's Brookhaven Park (a destination favorite for man's best friend). Possibly close to a 800 were in attendance as 14 schools competed on the 3 loop layoutincluding nearly 300 runners on a hot Fall afternoon. 14 Middle schools competed on the 3 loop layout.
MS Boys

Heritage Prep claimed the team title defeating a huge program (Ridgeview MS out of Sandy Creek) by 5 points. For Heritage, Brooks Merkle placed 2nd in 12:32 and 6th grader Zachary Roe was 5th in 12:45 sparking the team win. Knox Pittman of St.Martin's Episcopal won the overall title clocking a 12:15. Teamate Philip THornton was 3rd in 12:35. The Haskell School's Kaleb Brooks was 4th in 12:38
MS Girls

Arbor Montessori's Renee Lyles (pictured above) may be a superstar in the making as she took an early lead destroying the field winning the MS Girls Overall clocking a 12:46 which would have placed her easily in the top 5 of the Boys race...Ridgeview won the MS Girls team title scoring 66 points besting the Heiskell School by 8 points. Leading Ridgeview was Taylor Burke in 13:54 good for 2nd place.
