Sandy Creek Fall Classic In Tyrone highly ranked 4A/5A Boys squads Lagrange and Whitewater face downed each other with Whitewater gaining a 2 point victory. Senior Jon Raville just edged the Grangers Sam Bowie by :02 for the overall title in 16:19. Andrew Coggins placed 3rd for Lagrange in 16:28, followed by McIntosh's Joshua Mattingly in 16:32. The McIntosh Girls cruised to the team title with 31 points keyed by placing 5 girls in the top 10. The Chiefs top runner was Alyssa LeClaire placing 2nd in 20:24. Sarah Bearden from Lagrange took Individual honors in 20:06.
The Quail Trail Invitational way down in Thomasville (where I ran the Wendys a couple years) has become a popular event for most of south Ga's better programs serving as a warmup for 'Westover' this coming Saturday. For the 2nd meet in a row Bainbridge boys bested T'ville for team honors as Chase Harris won the overall again this time in 16:28 on a tougher layout. Most people up in the Metro area don't know there are some hills in this area as you get closer to the state line..Thomas County's girls team stung crosstown rival 2A ranked T'ville. Rachel Smith was the top Yella Jacket coming in 2nd at 21:38 Paige Braswell from Bainbridge made it 2 wins in a row taking the overall in 20:32
Savannah Christian Stinger Invite
Several large weekday meets are held every Fall at Savannah Country Day or Savannah Christian featuring mainly small schools from the area. The Stinger Invite at SCA had 17 schools competing in the HS division. The Boys race was a face off between Benedictine Military and Savannah Arts with the Cadets winning the shootout by 2 points consuming 4 of the top 5 places led by 2A stud Sam Geha's win in 16:52. Sav.Arts' Jackson Brantley was 2nd in 17:44. St.Vincent's was the best girls team Thursday winning on a 6th runner tiebreaker over host Savannah Christian. Sarah Glover of Savannah Country Day won the overall clocking a 20:29 over McIntosh Academy's Caroline Trexler back at 20:40. Complete Results
Wayne County Home Meet #2
Wayne County has been nearly the only school from this area to submit weekday results. They graduated stud Daniel Broadhead but remain competitive with a very small squad. Beau Brooks placed 1st for the boys in 16:51 followed by teamate Johnathon Dunn in 16:57 sparking the team win. Miracle Stanley of Wayne won the girls race in 20:22 ahead of Glynn Academy's Charlene Scott at 20:42. Camden County placed 1st as a team, followed by Glynn Academy.

Greensboro NC Cross Country Festival
#2 Ranked AA Wesleyan traveled to North Carolina and ran into some stiff competition. The Wolves placed 17th in the Boys Championship race led by Matt Moratti in 56th at 17:20 and Henry Collins placing 63rd in 17:24 Their top ranked girls fared much better as they again displayed depth placing 4th against some top NC teams. Caroline Reed was 10th overall in 18:55, but their 2-5 runners were keys to their success.

Collins Hill invaded Tennessee and the Lady Eagles flew high placing 3 runners in the top 9 snatching the Girls team title away from Maryville by a single point. Their had a 1-5 Split of :50 led by Mariah Maring in 19:42 and Lenora Luce in 19:43. The men of Collins Hill ran to 4th place in the Varsity Boys race led by Daniel Ellis' 5th place effort in 16:04.
