Cobb County 1600 Meter Finals Sets Tone for a Great Meet

The 2013 Cobb County Track and Field Championships began with a bang with a hotly contested 1600 Boys and Girls Finals.

Congrats to Tray Oates from Allatoona for breaking his own meet record with a clearance of 15'6" in the PV.  Kendall Williams show once again shined with victories in the LJ (19-08) and HJ. Her county swan song will be Monday in her signature 100 meter hurdles and the relays. Soph Tatiyana Rayford of Marietta had a big mark in the LJ at 19-0.75 and Shanel Burr of North Cobb was a hair behind at 18-11.50  Elise Moffat of Allatoona cleared 11-06 winning the Girls PV. Jenessa Jackson of Marietta flung the Discus out to 136-00 then doubled in the Shot with a toss of 41-09  

Teamwise, Marietta took advantage with a big lead going into Finals as the Boys amassed 88 points and the gals 78!
