The weather was a bit tricky, but the action on the track and infield was hot for this years' version of the Coaches Invitational held at Tech's beautiful George C. Griffin Track set against a backdrop of downtown Atlanta's skyline. There were many incredible performances leaving one to wonder what will happen come Region, Sectionals and State...Co meet MVPs were Kendell Williams and Stephanie Kurgall (Girls) and Josh Brickell and Devon Williams (Boys)....more

Avana Story unleashes the Weight Throw implement enroute to capturing her 1st National Indoor title. USATF Georgia Hall of Fame ACCEPTING Nominations The USA Track and Field Georgia Hall of Fame Committee announces acceptance of nominations for the USATF Georgia Hall of Fall Class of 2012. Nominations will be accepted via email or regular mail until April 15, 2012.  Criteria and other details are available at:             USATFGA.ORG

      USATF Georgia announces plans for its first annual All-State indoor track and field team. The team will be selected from Georgia high school athletes who compete at the New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York March 9-11. The team will be announced March 15th on the USATF Georgia web site www.usatfga.org.

          Image courtesy of Photo Run/Online Athens  Torie Owers of Athens Academy shattered the official All-Time Shot Put mark in a Prep Event this past Wednesday at Jefferson HS with a monster toss of 50-03. Her previous Put the same series was 50-02 and that is being consistently excellent!  Torie also slung the Discus 156-04 moving her up to 2nd on the GA All-Time list! Let's continue to watch out this Spring for Owers to continue improving as she always strives for.
