Summer Muxlow from North Hall Middle won her race at State and is the top ranked girl this year
Now that the 2023 Georgia Middle School State Championship is in the books, let's see how our kids stack up in the final round of middle school XC rankings. We've got rankings from the two most common distances that middle school kids run, but the two mile is the event that was run at state and is the main focus for kids running middle school. This season we had an incredible 7 boys break 11:00, 122 break 12:00, and 501 break 13:00. I would think all of those boys could be sub 20:00 in the 5k as soon as they get to high school. Some of them will make an immediate impact for their team. On the girls side we saw 4 girls break 12:00, 42 break 13:00, and 197 break 14:00. Some of those girls will come into high school and break 20:00 right away while others will be around 21:00 or 22:00 and could work their way to sub 20 by the time they're older. Note: Results from 3200m races have been converted to 2 Mile times and merged together in the rankings.
