Georgia Teams Decimate the Competition at Furman Classic

Several Ga schools, almost as many as SC made the cross-state trek to race on the very swift Furman course and kicked some butts dominating the Boys Championship Races and taking 3 of the top 4 team spots in the Girls race. Harrison bested Parkview by a slim margin in the Boys race and in the Girls event equally matched Harrison and Collins Hill duked it out. 
 
Boys
 
Gawga boys invaded Furman and took the top 3 team positions solidifying how much as a state XC keeps improving. 6A ranked Harrison took home the Boys team title besting watch list Parkview by 12 points which could slide them into the top 10 this week. The Hoyas placed 2 in the top 9 spots led by Ryan Brock in 15:52 in 7th place and capturing 9th was Jacob Cooper in 16:02. Parkview was boosted by Nick Schofer in 6th at 16:02. Logan Hughes led Greenbrier to a 5th place team finish and was the top ga native seizing overall runnerup clocking a 15:48 followed very closely by Daniel Ellis of Collins Hill a stride back in 15:49. Collins Hill was 3rd in the team standings.
 
Girls
 
Things are already beginning to sort out before Coach Wood as Collins Hill nipped Harrison by a single point to lay claim to 2nd in the team race. The big difference was a 4th place finish by C.Hill's Mariah Maring as she posted a 19:02  Harrison displayed more depth and was a little stronger from the 2-7 spots. The top Lady Hoya was Audrey Smith in 8th place at 19:10.  Milton was 4th overall, Parkview 9th and Lambert 10th.
