CANCELLED Coaches,
I have the unfortunate news of announcing that the 2011 Double Dip has to be cancelled. I met with the President of Marist who informed me that a significant about of our trail/course will be occupied by construction equipment and thus, will be unusable until late September. The construction was supposed to be complete by late August, but some last minute permitting issues have delayed the start. Rather than host a meet that runs through a parking lot three times or one in which our brutal hills are run twice (I believe the Bill of Rights does not permit cruel and unusual punishment), we saw it prudent to cancel the meet instead of hosting a sub-par event.
We will still host the Region 6-AAAA championships if you are curious as the construction should be finished by then.
The good news is that the 2012 Double Dip will finally have access to over a mile of new trails on the other side of Nancy Creek. Please keep Double Dip on your schedules for future years, but unfortunately, you will have to look else where for 2011.
