Meet Information
We are hosting the fourth annual Whitfield County Cross-Country Championships next Monday September 20th. Despite the name this is open to ANYONE. Please pass on this information to anyone you may think would be interested.
Whitfield County XC Championships
Monday September 20th 2010
We invite all elementary/middle school students and adults to participate in the Whitfield County Cross-Country Championships to be held Monday September 20th 2010 at Edwards Park. Each race is run on grass and gravel.
The cross-country course for the kids elementary races is a 1 mile course that goes along the walking trail at Edwards Park and the races for the middle school and adults will be two miles. Races will start at times listed below
Time Schedule
4:00 pm Registration Begins
5:00 pm 6th-8th Grade-2 mile
5:40 pm 4th-5th Grade-1 mile
6:00 pm 1st-3rd Grade-1 mile
6:20 pm Adult Race-2 mile
7:00 pm Awards
Awards - Ribbons will be given to every runner that finishes their race. The top three boys and girls in each grade will receive medals and the top three adults <39 and the top three adults 40+ will receive awards. The awards ceremony will be at 7:00 P.M.
Results- Each finisher will receive a place card at the end of the chute that will need to be filled out to be and turned into the registration table to be eligible for awards.
Registration - Registration is a 2.00 (donation) and is done on race day. Each participant must sign a waiver and those under 18 must have a parent sign a waiver at the registration table.
Location Edwards Park -Varnell, Georgia
Course - All races will be on the Edwards Park walking trail. The course is extremely well marked.
Cost - Cost of the races is 2.00 (donation). This is to cover costs of awards.
