We are very excited to host you at the 2025 GHSA 6A Sectional Meet.

Here are a few things to be aware of: (Time Schedule has changed, see below)

The course is in pretty good shape and we've cut the grass as low as we can. The rain on Wednesday was perfect timing to dampen the course.  The Course drains pretty well, so we should have great conditions Sat.
Course measured out at 5000m and is marked every 400m except the 4800m mark is not marked.

Parking - No parking fee

Spectator Fee -
  • Remind your parents, JV runners and others that might attend to purchase their tickets ahead of time.  We will have QR Codes available for them to scan, but NO CASH will be accepted and we WILL NOT have card readers.
  • Only GHSA Coaches passes and GHSA Lifetime passes will be accepted.  No AARP cards or Country ID's.
Buses - Buses will be allowed to drop off your athletes Saturday morning at the race venue.  But then they will be directed to one of 2 local schools to park and wait for the meet to conclude.  We need every available parking spot that morning as we are a very Full Meet.  There will be a small space for Coaches who are driving their own bus to park.
Team Tents - This is one of our adjustments for parking, please see the 2025 Course Map for tent locations.  All team tents will need to go in this area.  You will be allowed 1 car to drive back to the Team Tent area.  Please follow the Team Car path on the Course Map. Team tent cars ARE required to pay entry fee. CARS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED NEAR THE START LINE.  THIS WILL BE BLOCKED OFF.
Team Boom Boxes - There is a local noise ordinance before 7am.  Please do not play any load music prior to 7am
Toilets - There are 28 Portable Toilets for the athletes to use.  There are also 2 Coaches Toilets near Packet Pickup.

Garbage - I will provide 1 trash bag for you to collect your trash in.  Please take your garbage to the dumpster in the Main parkign lot when you leave.  If you do not take it, I have to take it so please do me this favor.

Race Schedule - The girls race begins at 8:15am.  I have adjusted our time schedule due to Sunrise and 1st Daylight.  Please note the changes below:
  • 8:15am Var A Girls
  • 8:50am Var A Boys
  • 9:15am Var B Girls
  • 9:50am Var B Boys
Race Chips - If we have shoe chips, please return them STRAIGHT TO THE TIMER after your team finishes.
Awards - Regions are responsible for their own awards.  There will be an awards area set up along with a sound sytem to use.  There is no awards schedule, feel free to use the Awards Stage and Sound System when your Region is ready.
Water - we will have water at the end of the races, but it will not be enough to hydrate your athletes.  Please plan to bring your own team hydration needs.
Kona Ice - we have invited Kona Ice to join us again on Saturday morning.
Travelin' Tom's Coffee - We will have coffee for sale Saturday morning.

Eagle Sports - will be selling Sectional tshirts and sweatshirts for purchase.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with anything that you may need.  Here is my cell phone number (404) 822-3917

Good Sunday evening Coaches!

Just a reminder that any changes/additions are due by tomorrow morning at 9am.

There are 18 schools that DO NOT have a total of 28 kids listed, AND THAT'S FINE of that's what you want.

Please go ahead and begin to inform your team and parents that the Entry Fee is $10 per person on GoFan.  This is different from all other meets at ACP.  There will be a Coach/Athlete Check in Pass List/Gate.  All other JV athletes will need to purchase a ticket to enter the meet. Here is the Link to purchase meet tickets.

Just a quick clarification on your entries and who can run in each race.

Milesplit set up the races so you place your top 7 in the A race and then your next 7 in the B race.

After speaking to Perfect Timing, you may run ANY of your 14 in either race on 11/1.  You will not need to make changes from one race to another on race day if your lineup doesn't match the Milesplit registration

However, the 7 that run in the Varisty A race on 11/1 (#1-7 runners) will be the 7 listed as running at the State Meet on 11/8.  You may replace a runner from your original list of 14 the morning of 11/8 if you need to.

Keep asking questions if you need to figure out this new format.

Just a few reminders as we get a little closer.

Your 6A Sectional races have been renamed to Varsity A an Varsity B races.

  • Varsity A is for your #1-7 runners
  • Varsity B is for your #8-14 runners

We DO NOT have any "JV races." This means that no 8th graders or Migratory athletes may compete at these races since they will be attached to your GHSA Roster that gets imported to the State Meet pool of athletes.

The following links are posted on your Sectional Milesplit webpage:

  • Course Map
  • Ticket Sales
  • Box Assignments
  • GHSA XC Coaches Handbook

After your race, you will have 30 minutes to check the results and report them to the timer for correction.  After this 30 minute window, results will be deemed official and no changes will be made.

I will have an Awards Stage and sound system available for your Region to have an awards ceremony.  Your Region may have thier ceremony whenever the stage is not being used.

Kennesaw Mountain is hosting a meet this weekend at ACP and they are using the exact course we will be using the next weekend.  The course has been marked every 400m.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with anything that you may need.

Coaches, I wanted to make you aware of some of things as we enter the 2nd half of the XC Season.

1. Your Sectional Meet page has been updated with your current time schedule.  This is slightly different from what is published on the GHSA.net site.

2. Slight course adjustment:  The approach to the Finish Line has been moved to BEHIND the start line.  The current course map on your Sectional Meet page has been updated.

3. Registration is now OPEN and you may enter up to 14 athletes per gender.  This closes Monday October 27th at 9am and is a hard deadline.

4. Allatoona Creek Park does not have  enough room to host all of your JV athletes.  The JV races are limited to 7 athletes in each race and these should be included in your 14 registered athletes.

5. The spectator entry fee has increased per GHSA to $10 per person this year and will only be accessible via GoFan.

6. Allatoona Creek park is open from sunrise to sunset.  There is no fee to access the park.  I have the course painted and will continue to keep it ready throughout the remainder of the season if you'd like to preview the course prior to 11/1.

If you have any questions as we approach November 1st, please email at hoyarelay@hotmail.com

See you all soon,
