COURSE INFORMATION: NEW COURSE FOR 2024

Please note that we have a new course at Cheney Stadium for

2024.The start line is in a new

location and the laps are different. Please take a look at the attached map and

work with your athletes on understanding their laps. Runners who do not

complete the required number of laps shall be disqualified. Coaches, please

communicate the required number of laps to your athletes and keep track of them

during the race. While we have staff onsite counting laps, some athletes miss the

cues and instructions in the midst of competition.

BUS UNLOADING/LOADING AND PARKING/TEAM ENTRY

Buses can unload and park on Ami Street in the designated

bus parking area. See the event map for parking area.  Ami Street will

close for the event at 5:20 p.m. After 5:20 p.m., buses can unload on Connally

Street or at the corner of Ami St. and Little St. (the southwest corner of the

event).  Police officers will be present at Ami St. and Little St. to help

mitigate traffic and unloading. After 5:20 pm, all teams shall enter

through the Connally St. gate, as Ami St. gate will be closed due to activity

on the course.

When teams are ready to depart, we recommend buses load

curbside on Connally St. Buses coming from other areas can also load on

Connally St; see event map for loading area.

SPECTATOR PARKING AND ENTRY

Parking in the area is limited to legal street parking.

Spectators should arrive with plenty of time to find legal parking and walk to

the event. Prior to 5:20 pm, spectators (and teams) can enter through the

Ami St. gate. After 5:20 pm, spectators (and teams) use the Connally St. gate.

TEAM TENT AREA

For the safety of our runners and spectators, we have

identified Team Tent Areas on the event map. Please adhere to the locations

suggested. We will keep the first 100 meters of track tent-free for safety, but

we do encourage engaged spectators to cheer in that area!

COURSE WARM-UP

It's highly recommended that your team arrive with enough

time to warm up on the course prior to the start of the first race. Once the

first race commences, it's important that athletes step off the course to

prevent impeding those racing and to maintain the course setup. If you and your

team arrive after the start of the first race, we suggest warming up outside of

the racing venue.

PACKET PICKUP

Team packet pickup location is designated on the map and

will be on the infield of the track. Please note that packets will be prepared

only for teams who have fully registered their invidivuals through GA Milesplit

according to the deadline.

FINISH LINE, FOOD AND FLUIDS

The finish line and chute area are for finishers and event

staff only. This area will be clearly marked. We ask that coaches and

spectators refrain from entering the chute. Food and fluids provided are for

finishers only. Once finishers exit the chute, they will not be permitted to

re-enter.

TIMING & RESULTS

Timing and scoring of the event will be done by Perfect

Timing Group.  Live results links will be available during the event.

Again, we ask that coaches help event organizers by counting the laps of your

athletes and making sure your athletes complete the required number of laps.

Should they not complete their laps, please notify an event official or the

timer immediately.

AWARDS

Middle School: the middle school awards ceremony will

begin at approximately 7:40 p.m. The Top 10 boys and Top 10 girls will be

awarded a ribbon. The Top 2 teams will be recognized verbally.

High School: The top 3 boys and top 3 girls will be

awarded a finisher medal upon crossing the finish line.

GARBAGE AND RECYCLING

Teams shall follow the principles of "Leave No Trace:"

Please pack out what you pack in and bring trash bags, etc. We

will have some small trash receptacles onsite for spectator garbage and water

bottle recycling. We want to leave this event space BETTER than we found it!

Please encourage your athletes and spectators to help us clean up trash.

VOLUNTEERS AND TEAM SUPPORT NEEDED

Volunteers are needed to make this a safe, enjoyable event.

Interested parties can

register here
to volunteer.  Volunteers receive a small gift as a

token of appreciation.

At the conclusion of the event, we ask the remaining teams

and spectators to please lend a helping hand! Many hands make light work, and

we are short on daylight. Teams can help us break down by carrying equipment to

our truck: fencing, bins, cones, tables, etc. Find an event staffer in a red

shirt and ask how you can help!
