The Zach Wansley Clash   

The Zach Wansley Clash is in honor of one of Chapel Hill's great athletes.  Zack Wansley. Zack was a remarkable young man who ran for both Chapel Hill High and Georgia Tech. Zack tragically passed away while training for the Atlanta Marathon. In honor of this remarkable young man and his passion for nature and running, we have dedicated awards and a race in his name. Race Location: Clinton Nature Preserve:  8720 Ephesus Church Road, Villa Rica, Georgia 30180

Schedule:  Awards to follow the Girls JV Race.

• Boys Varsity     8:15am

• Girls Varsity     8:50

• Boys JV             9:25

• Girls JV             10:00

Splits:  Split times will be called at both the 1 mile and 2 mile marks.  

Course Preview:  The course will be open at 2 pm on Friday for preview.

Course Layout:  Course is two loops. Finish Line is next to Start Line. See Map for details by visiting the Zack Clash Webpage.  Spectators can view the 1 mile mark (at the lake) but the 2 mile mark is on a narrow part of the course, so please do not stand at 2 mile mark for safety.  Thank you.  There is a "Swing Gate" that will be used to direct racers who have completed their 2nd loop and headed for the finish line VS the racers who need to complete their 2nd loop.  Spectators please stay clear of the Swing Gate for safety.

Parking:    There is a parking fee of $5 per vehicle if paid in advance.  Parking is $10 if paid on race day.  Vehicles carrying only coaches or athletes do not pay this fee. However, if a parent is transporting athletes with an intent to stay at the meet, that parent will be asked to pay the fee.

Food and T-Shirts:  Drinks, snacks, coffee, and Chick Fil A biscuits will be available on site.  Cash or card accepted.  T-Shirts, Long sleeved shirts, and hoodies will also be on sale that you can customize.

COACHES Info:  

• Registration must be completed by August 9th @ 11pm!
• First place Boys and Girls Varsity teams will receive trophies
• JV Races will be team-scored but there will be no team trophies
• In all 4 races, medals will be awarded to the Top 8 finishers (32 medals in total)
• Varsity Boys & Girls Individual winners will receive a Dry-Fit T-Shirt
• All athletes should be entered through the MileSplit entry portal, accessed through our Meet Homepage on the Calendar.
• It is not necessary to assign athletes to the individual races, just ensure that your entire roster is entered. Each athlete will receive a shoe chip and a bib number, and you decide on race morning which event you like to have your runners compete in (but please run only in those races which you've previously indicated you run in via communication with the Meet Director.
• Varsity Races: We request that you limit your entries here to 10 athletes per varsity race and the rest will run JV.  If we need to increase that number due to entries, we will email coaches in advance.

1) Bib numbers must match the chip numbers for each athlete.

2) Coaches are responsible for returning timing chips back to the timing tent after their last runners are done.  There is a $30 fee for unreturned chips, payable to The Perfect Timing Group.

Race Packet Pick-up:  The packet pick-up will be at the concession stand near the Team Tent area.

Tents:  The main area for tents will be in a large open fields surrounding the playground area.

Results:  Results will be posted ASAP by The Perfect Timing Company on MileSplit.

Entry Fees:  Price per school is $300.  If you team has less than 30 kids, it is $10 per runner.
