Kent Kramer began and founded the Athens Christian Cross Country program in the mid 90s - his life touched hundreds of kids when he coached track and XC at ACS for several years, prior to his untimely passing in a car accident while en-route to an ACS XC practice . Coach Kramer was a sub 4 minute miler (3:56), and an outstanding distance runner at the University of Michigan. It was my privilege to coach with him at Athens Christian for many years; all the while gleaning much wisdom from him in our many conversations traveling to and from track and Cross events, as well as daily life instructions as we coached together. This meet will honor his memory as well as give kids a chance to do what he loved training them to do - run 3.1 miles as fast as they could go. Kent Kramer's encouragement to runners could be heard from one side of the course to the other - we look forward to hosting as many teams as possible on October 12 in his memory. Also this year's  Small School  (Purple) Girls Varsity race will be named the Brooklyn Dalton memorial 5K in honor of Brooklyn Dalton of Jasper County,  who's last race was at this meet last October - this young warrior lost her battle with cancer 2 months after the race - we are honoring her memory at this meet as well. Please call me if I can be of any help as you all prepare for this meet. Head ACS XC Coach Tim Cummings - 706-340-2734.

The KKC meet will start with a Middle School race at 3:30 pm - it will be a combined boys and girls race - with awards to follow.
