Meet Information
Coaches all registration for Region will done on www.ga.milesplit. The Region is April 21st - 22nd at Southern Crescent Stadium (located next to Charles Drew HS). Only 2023 performances are allowed, no hand times or field entries will be allowed. We are using the State Sectional schedule as our Region Schedule. Duties are listed for each school by the events.
Friday, April 21st
Coaches Meeting - 1:45 pm
RUNNING EVENT: The 1600-meter run (girls and boys) will be the only contested running event.
FIELD EVENTS: 3 throws in preliminaries. Nine (9) competitors to Finals in horizontal events (jumps and throws). Recommended opening heights are posted for each event (may be revised by Games Committee should strength of competition and / or weather conditions dictate). All throwing implements must be weighed and marked. Competitors may only use marked implements. Coaches must submit a signed Pole Vault verification sheet to verify their vaulter is using a legal pole.

Coaches Meeting - 8:30 am
RUNNING EVENTS:
Running events will start at 9:30 am. Time increments between running events should be maintained to ensure adequate recovery time between events.
All heats will run against time. The fast heat will be the final heat in the 100/110H, 100, 200, 400 and 800.
The meet will run on schedule. Please make sure your athletes are paying attention for the 1st calls to check in.

Please keep your athletes in designated areas, stands, or warm-up area. Keep them off the infield unless they are warming up, reporting to the clerk of the course or to an event to compete. Please remind them of the following rules: No electronic devices, and no clothing other than the proper uniform in the warm-up and competition areas. Please review the GHSA rules on proper uniforms.
Scoring will be as follows: the top 8 places will score according to GHSA bylaws.
10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 for individuals and relays.
All entries are due by Wednesday, April 19th at Midnight Email- brian.barrington@clayton.k12.ga.us to confirm entries. Coaches, be reminded that all NFHS and Georgia High School Association rules will be enforced. ALL ENTRIES WILL BE ENTERED ON GA MILESPLIT.
We will use 2023 Times and marks for seeding for the meet. If your athlete has NT, they will be put in the 1st heat. There will be no hand times entered in region meet. Heats will be seeded slower to fast. NO PRELIMS...All races are a final.
Warmup area will be roped off on the infield. All teams can set up in the away bleachers or grassy area around the track.
Medical Tent
There will be a medical tent which will provide a certified athletic trainer for injury assessment and treatment. Bry Edwards - Trainer at Charles Drew High School
Hospitality Room
There will be a hospitality room for coaches and officials ONLY.
Concessions
We will have concessions available at region meet.
Awards
All field events and running events will be awarded after completion of that event.
