Demaryius Thomas Relays (Special Appearance - Morgan Burnett) 2023

Demaryius Thomas was a 2007 graduate of West Laurens High School. He was a multi-sport athlete (football, basketball, and track). He left his legacy on every athletic stage that he performed on. He was a high school standout in football, basketball and track. He set football records on both the collegiate (Georgia Tech) and professional (Denver Broncos) level. He achieved the ultimate goal after winning the Super bowl in 2016 with the Denver Broncos. Demaryius passed away at the young age of 33, and to commemorate the legacy of the man and the athlete, we are hosting our first Annual Demaryius Thomas Relays. We will have a special appearance from his close friend, Georgia Tech teammate, and former NFL standout, Morgan Burnett. Morgan has agreed to speak with the athletes about the attributes that made Demaryius Thomas a great man, athlete, and teammate. His goal will be to encourage the athletes to model those attributes in their personal lives.

We are eager to have you attend our end of the season, run for fun relay meet! The meet will begin at 4:00 pm, and to ensure that your time is respected, we will strictly follow the meets schedule. 1st place and 2nd place medals will be awarded to deserving athletes. You must register your team through gamilesplit.org by April 19th, 2023. We look forward to the opportunity to provide your team with a highly competitive meet. There is an eight-team limit. We hope you will consider registering your team and enjoy a good fun workout relay meet before region competition. Good luck to you all this 2023 track season.

Coaches Meeting:

We will hold a coaches meeting at 3:30 in the field house near the end zone of the football field

Tents:

Tents may be set up on designated grass areas. These areas will be posted, Tent Set-up".

Concession Stand:

Please visit the concession stand throughout the meet. We will have a variety of drinks, snacks, and more

Bullpen:

All field events will check-in at the event location. 3200 will check-in at the start line. For the remaining running events, the bullpen will be located under the goal post near the high jump.
