SECTION XI. Track and Field
GHSA rules will apply.
All coaches from each school should be prepared to assist in the timing and judging of events if needed by the host
In the conference meet, each school will be permitted to enter two (2) participants per lane event and three (3) participants per field event. Players may participate in four (4) total events. The 800/1600 are limited to four (4) per school.
Eligibility forms must be carried to every meet. If someone questions you and you do not have your form, the person in question will be automatically DQed. Must be the original eligibility.
FIELD EVENTS:
The following will be the scratch distances for shot at all meets:
Girls (6lb.) - 20 feet Boys (8lb.) - 30 feet
The following will be the scratch distances for discus at all meets:
Girls - 50 feet Boys - 80 feet
Participants will use the same shot and discus.
The following will be starting height for high jump:
Girls - 4 feet Boys - 48
At the region meet, the starting heights will be as follows:
Girls - 42 Boys - 5 feet
RUNNING EVENTS:
A runner will be DQed if they run out of their lane.
Timing for all running events will be done according to places NOT lanes. Times may have to be adjusted.
It is mandatory that everyone in the infield get down and stay down during the relays and 200M dash. Failure to do so could result in your team for that event being DQed. Only participants are allowed in the infield
The number of hurdles for both girls and boys will be 5. The height of the boys hurdles will increase to 33. The girls hurdles will be placed on the yellow marks, and boys hurdles will be placed on the blue
