2013 REGION 2AA TRACK MEET
APRIL 15TH PRELIMS & APRIL 17TH FINALS

MEET NOTES
1. ATHLETES IN RUNNING EVENTS WILL REPORT TO THE CLERK OF COURSE ON FIRST CALL.
2. ATHLETES IN FIELD EVENTS SHOULD REPORT TO THE EVENT AREA ON FIRST CALL. ATHLETES IN MULTIPLE FIELD EVENTS MUST REPORT IN TO BOTH AREAS TO CHECK IN.
3. RUNNING EVENTS TAKE PRECEDENT OVER FIELD EVENTS
4. ALL ATHLETES WILL GET THEIR LANE ASSIGNMENTS FROM THE CLERK OF COURSE. LANE ASSIGNMENTS ARE BASED ON THE TIME THAT WERE SUBMITTED. THE TOP FOUR COMPETITORS WITH THE FASTEST TIMES IN THE QUALIFYING
HEATS WILL ADVANCE TO THE FINALS. IF THERE ARE THREE HERATS THE PROCEDURE WILL BE THE HEAT WINNERS AND THEN THE NEXT 5 FASTEST TIMES.
5. ATHLETES IN RUNNING EVENTS NEED TO REMAIN ON THE TRACK AT THE END OF THEIR RACE UNTIL INSTRUCTED TO LEAVE THE TRACK.
6. AWARDS WILL BE PICKED UP AT THE AWARDS STAND AS THEY ARE ANNOUNCED.
7. RESULTS WILL BE POSTED NEAR THE SCORERS TABLE FOR COACHES ONLY TO RECORD.
8. ALL ATHLETES IN RUNNING EVENTS WILL WARMUP ON THE TRACK IN-FIELD, BUT NO LOITERING AROUND THE INFIELD BY OTHER ATHLETES NOT GETTING READY TO PARTICIPATE.
9. ALL NON-PARTICIPANTS MUST STAY OUTSIDE OF THE FENCE OR IN THE BLEACHERS.
10. ONLY ATHLETES THAT ARE ABOUT TO RUN WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE TRACK INFIELD.
11. ALL FIELD EVENTS ATHLETES WILL BE GIVEN THREE ATTEMPTS.
12. THROWING IMPLEMENTS (SHOTS & DISCS) MUST BE CHECKED IN AT THE CLERK TENT BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO THROW.
13. INDIVIDUALS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE COMBINATION OF EVENTS AS OUTLINED IN THE GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION WHITE BOOK.
14. ALL ENTRIES SUBMITTED MUST MEET GHSA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS.
15. NO BOOM BOXES/RADIOS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE STANDS, ON OR NEAR WARMUP AREAS.
16. THIS EVENT IS A GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATION EVENT.
ALL RULES IN THE WHITE BOOK WILL BE ENFORCED.
17. THE 800 METER RUN, 1600 METER RUN, AND 3200 METER RUN
WILL BE RUN AS FINALS.
THERE WILL BE A SHORT COACHES/SCRATCH MEETING AT 12:30 PM

In Region and State meets, eight (8) places shall be scored, with point totals counting as follows:
First Place = 10 points
Second Place = 8 points
Third place = 6 points
Fourth Place = 5 points
Fifth Place = 4 points
Sixth Place = 3 points
Seventh Place = 2 points
Eighth Place = 1 point
NOTE: When there is a tie, the points will be divided equally among the contestants who are tied.
REGION COMPETITION:
A. Notification of intent to enter the boys and/or girls Region Track Meet must be filed in writing with the Region Secretary. The list of entries must be filed with the Region Secretary no later than ten (10) days prior to the Region Meet. Coaches may alter the list of entries until the "Scratch Meeting" that precedes the Region Meet.
The time schedule for the Region Meet shall be given to each competing school prior to the start of the Meet.

1. Each school may have two (2) entries in each event.

3. In Shot Put, Discus, Long Jump, and Triple Jump, the giving of qualifying and final trials is optional.
NOTE: The Region Executive Committee may institute a process in which each contestant has three (3) attempts and only the best attempt counts.
4. The top two (2) finishers in each event will advance to the State Meet. When there is a tie in any event involving more contestants than the Region is entitled to enter in the State Meet, the contest must continue or be reheld until the representatives to the State Meet are determined, and no points be given for the continued or reheld contest.
