Georgia Stars Shine at Mobile!!

Georgia\'s top athletes performed well at the Mobile Challenge of Champions Invitational division on Saturday. It started with Nicole Okolo in the triple jump. The Collins Hill star covered 39\' 0.75\" to win top honors and also earn top marks in the state this season. Her teammates in the 4x800 did not disappoint either as they covered 8 laps of the oval in a state leading time of 9:31.49 to also take home gold. Jordan Scott of Oconee Co. continued his spectacular season as he won gold in the pole vault with a mark of 16\'6\". Donte Nall, of Chapel Hill, cleared an impressive 7\'00\" in the high jump to set a meet record. Collins Hill\'s girls continued the streak of golds with a win in the 4x100 with a time of 48.44.

In the individual running events, again Georgia athletes strutted their stuff. Emily Reese was next on the track in the mile where she won in an impressive time of 4:57.50. Kristi Castlin, of Chapel Hill, captured gold in the 100m hurdles with a time of 13.94, the number two time in Georgia this season. Brittany Hall set yet another amazing mark in the 800m with a time of 2:10.19. Caroline Vaughn, of Blessed Trinity, continued the impressive showing by taking gold in the 300m hurdles with a 43.63, the number two time in the state this season. Jackie Drouin was the next athlete to get a chance to strut her stuff and she did just that with a win in the 2 mile in a time of 10:49.32. Jay Heller, of Walton, duplicated her effort in the boys 2 mile, winning in a time of 9:18.09. At the end of the night, Georgians had taken first in 11 events on the night, setting meet records in the boys pole vault, girls 800m, girls mile and the boys high jump as well as the Female MVP in Brittany Hall. A stellar performance by all the Georgia athletes and evidence that we\'re witnessing something special this season as our Georgia athletes are putting together one very impressive season!
