Ben Hubers posted the 2nd fastest time ever at Wild Horse Creek Park as he was crowned Cobb Co. Champion over a valiant effort by Jay Heller of Walton as both runners crossed the line under 16 minutes with Huber taking the win in 15:46 to Heller\'s 15:53. But while McEachern claimed the individual champion, Walton took home the team title in a close battle 59-64. Hubers and Brian Potts finished ahead of their two Walton counterparts Heller and Corey Hunter as Potts brought home 3rd place ahead of Hunter\'s fourth place finish as they went 16;15 and 16:19 respectively. Stephen Arnold also posted a top 10 finish for McEachern, going 17:04 but it wasn\'t enough to hold off the boys from Walton as Mark Viglotti and Thomas Pilliod were able to join Justin Kerzie in the top 20 to give Walton the win. Lassiter, with the return of Zack Flickinger who finished in 7th place (16:47), along with Drew Jones in 10th place (17:07) finished 3rd in a tight team battle that saw the 3 teams separated by only 17 points. Matteo Dicecco, of North Cobb (16:36) and Miles Svoboda, of Pope High School (16:38) also posted top 10 finishes and broke the 17 minute barrier in a battle of some of the state\'s best teams.
