This Weekend In Georgia XC: Cooler Temps Produce Fast Times

It has been absolutely gorgeous all week for running. It's been kind of a weird weather year so I wasn't sure if we would get this kind of weekend or not during the regular season. It usually happens near the end of September or the first weekend of October. But two Hurricanes meant that those weekends were met with some weird weather. We had rain and humidity, but never really got the perfect racing conditions we're used to seeing by now. 

But it's been great weather all week this week and that will continue through the weekend. It's finally feeling like fall for more than a day or two. This feels like it's here to stay. And when you combine that with the fact that we haven't had any rain in a while, cross country courses should be in prime condition to run fast. So I expect that's exactly what we will get this weekend. Dry courses and cooler weather is how you get big PR's from teams top to bottom. I'm really excited to see what this weekend produces across the state, but the Coach Wood Invitational is the big ticket item on Saturday. We will go into greater detail on that one later, but expect it to be a really impressive showing from top to bottom.

Some people are traveling out of state for a fast course and others are just racing a little more close to home to get better prepared for the post season meets. Either way, this should be an awesome weekend in Georgia cross country and I can't wait to see the results.
