It was a little muddy at the UGA Meet in 2009
First of all, our thoughts are with the people in Louisiana who are affected by Hurricane Francine and anybody else who is ever affected by a strong Hurricane like this.
My first year of coaching was in 2009. During that season we only had two meets where it did not pour down rain on us for the entire meet. It quite honestly got a little old. However, I remember very fondly the first meet I ran in the pouring rain - Westover in 2001. It is still one of my all time favorite races (and don't bother trying to find me in the results, I had to run under a different name). Running a cross country race in the rain is one of the most fun things I've ever done. And I got to do it again a few more times during my time as a runner. You throw time out the window and you focus just on racing. And you get soaking wet and it's just so much fun. The state meet in 2015 was another fond memory where time didn't...
