Mary Nesmith helped lead Marietta to the best team all class with her win
Now that the state meet is in the books it's time to crown our all class state champions. This is always a fun way to look at the meet. It's not perfect, as weather and race conditions can vary. But if it's good enough for Nike Nationals to determine it's qualifiers for one of their regionals, then it's good enough for Georgia to determine a champion. After last year saw times that produced perhaps the slowest state meet results ever, this year saw a slight course change to give us the fastest state meet results since at least 2011. Personally, I'm a big fan of the change as these times are more in line with what you'd expect for a state championship course compared to last year. The heat can still get you if you get the later race of the day, but don't tell that to Joseph Jacquot and Katelynn Dollar who blitzed that thing in the heat, showing the entire state who the best runners were for this meet. Also congrats...
