16:20 avg, 1st in 7A. The top dogs went and dodged competition by running away to Florida and avoiding everybody at Wingfoot and Asics. Kidding people... Harrison remains the top team until somebody knocks them off. I'm assuming this meet was chosen to give the kids a beach trip or Disney World visit afterwards as a way to relax a little and take the pressure off in the middle of the season.

16:20 avg, 1st in 4A. Here's the team we've been waiting for. They finally get healthy enough to put it all together. They're probably the best bet to take down Harrison at some point this season and I don't even think they're at their best yet. Coach Tribble's best squad ever looks like they're getting ready to make a push when it really matters

16:27 avg, 2nd in 7A. This is another team that looks to be getting to where we thought they'd be in the preseason. Lambert put it all together at Wingfoot with a solid performance that shows what they're really capable of this year. Can they make a run at the top spot in 7A?

16:38, 1st in 6A. I can't tell if this was the best race from BT or not. It feels like they've got a little more in them but it was certainly a statement race that showed they're a contender to win the 6A title this year. This is probably their best team ever too and if they can put it all together in November they'll be very happy leaving Carrollton Elementary

16:03 avg, 3rd in 7A. This is a solid race that showed consistency, something very few teams have truly shown in these rankings. Denmark has all of the pieces in place to make a run at the podium or more in November. They've proven themselves enough at this point, now they just need to get to state healthy.

16:03 avg, 4th in 7A. Here's the Carrollton team I've been waiting to see. This looks like the team hungry to go after a state title again this fall. I don't think they're quite there yet, but this was definitely a big step in the right direction for this team

16:32 avg, 2nd in 6A. A bit of an off race from the War Eagles drops them in the rankings...for now. Was this just an off race for them at wingfoot or will they continue down this path? Too early to tell so stay tuned.

16:31 avg, 1st in 3A. Another team with some consistency in these rankings. The Oconee boys continue to show they're one of the best teams in the state and have the front runners and depth to run with almost anybody on this list. They're dangerous this fall and will be nearly impossible to beat in class 3A

16:46 avg, 5th in 7A. Tough to rank this team but I feel ok about this placement. Wingfoot was clearly their best race of the season and it propelled them up the rankings as the highest ranked team who was unranked last time we did these rankings.

16:09 avg, 2nd in 4A. Asics is definitely their best race of the year, but I think it showed more who they really are. This is a team that can definitely contend with anybody in the top ten this year.

Well I think coming up with this idea is one of the dumbest things I've ever done. So much movement in the top 25 this week. There appear to be about 3 groups here. The first group consists of 3-5 teams that include Harrison and teams who might have a chance to beat Harrison. The next group of 3-5 teams is anybody else that could break into the top 5 on the right day. And the final group of about 30-40 teams is a bunch of teams who could all beat each other on a given day and be ranked anywhere from 10th to 50th based on how it goes for them. It's truly wild when you look at the entire season and see the giant cluster of teams that are all fairly even, give or take. Most teams ran at Wingfoot, Asics, or both so most teams were ranked accordingly. If they ran both and had a very poor performance at one of them, then that wasn't really counted against them if they did well at the other one. But this was not easy to sort out as so much of it was teams who are just incredibly close. Bring on Coach Wood and the Region Meets!
