16:11 avg, 1st in 7A. The obvious top team at the moment as they've beaten all comers. But don't crown them just yet as there are plenty of challengers. If there's such a thing as winning the freshman lottery on the boys side, it's Harrison this year. But can those two freshman lead them to a state title at Carrollton in November? They certainly passed their first test on the course

15:53 avg, 1st in 6A. The favorites for 6A benefit from transfers and having a front runner who might be the best xc runner in the history of Georgia. They'r enot invincible, but they are off to a strong start

17:02 avg, 2nd in 6A. The most likely team to take down Marist in 6A has had a strong start and looks capable of challenging either of the top two teams on the right day. This might be the best BT team we've ever seen.

16:59 avg, 1st in 4A. I think they've dealt with some injuries because they're certainly capable of being the top team on this list. We will see if they get there. If they do, it could be something special for all of us to witness

16:31 avg, 2nd in 7A. Front runners, a strong pack, and excellent coaching is everything you need in this sport. Don't write them off as they could come charging late in the season all the way to the top of this list.

16:30 avg, 1st in 3A. The heavy favorites in their class but they clearly want more as they're challenging teams in big invitationals this year.

17:16 avg, 4th in 7A. Were missing their top runner this weekend and haven't quite been full strength yet. Could definitely move up these rankings if they get healthy.

16:46 avg, 2nd in 1A-d1. Definitely could be ranked higher on this list after Wingfoot this weekend if they show up and have a big day.

Introducing the Georgia MileSplit Top 25 teams. Team cross country rankings are taking on a different format this season. Think of them as similar to the Top 25 rankings in college football. These will include teams from all classifications across the state and are based on what teams have done so far. Some things were taken into account like missing runners when it was an obvious top runner, but for the most part it is based on what they've done so far. Please understand these are not meant to be predictions for upcoming meets, but more of a snapshot of where things are right now. For the boys, teams 7-20 were incredibly hard to rank and there are certainly about 10 other teams who could make a solid case for being deserving of a spot on these rankings. But this is how I see things at the moment. If you think I'm wrong, go out and prove it!
