Interview with Marietta teams after the boys and girls both won state XC titles
Marietta coach Jack Coleman and Decatur coach Mary Souther were named the 2022 Cross Country coach of the year for the state of Georgia. Coleman was given the honor after his boys team scored the upset win in class 7A and Souther was given the honor after her girls team dominated class 5A at the state meet this fall. This is Coach Coleman's 5th time winning the honor having won already in 2014 (boys), 2015 (boys), 2018 (girls), and 2020 (girls). This is Coach Souther's 2nd time winning after winning it in 2021 thanks to the performance of her boys team. The honor has been given since 2014.
