If the "Women of Marietta" had their own playlist, it would be "All I Do Is Win" by DJ Khaled on repeat. That is exactly what they have been doing week in and week out this season. Winning. Aside from a few jump scares from the very talented Harrison Lady Hoyas, Marietta has dominated the Georgia girls cross country landscape. At the Carrollton Orthopaedic Invitational they ran a 20:01 team average with a 36 second 1-5 split. Also, they won that race by 112 points...

The Lady Hoyas continue to put up quite the battle this season. At the Carrollton Orthopaedic Invitational, Coach Scott decided to play a little "3-D Chess," in which he raced his varsity squad minus usual 1 and 2, Samantha McGarrity and Lidia Longo, in the Large School Girls 5K race. They lost to a fast McIntosh squad and missed out on first place by one point. Regardless, it was still an impressive performance and based on team averages, they would have been top five in the Girls Champoionship Race. Move on to next week where once again, they faced off against 7A rivals, Mareitta. It was another close dual and Harrison only lost by a slim 15 points. This 7A girls race is seriously heating up and luckily, we will get to see these teams compete against each other a few more times this season.

"Obviously our goal was to win, because that is what we do," Ruby Little proudly said after the War Eagles victory this past Saturday. She is not wrong. Marist girls have looked strong this season and their impressive win at the Warpath Invitational helps them maintain their position as the third best team in Georgia. In regard to times, they are not too far off of Harrison as Marist has a 1-5 average of 19:17.07 compared to Harrison's 19:13.85. Major shout out to Ruby Little though as she has run some BIG times this season. Her 17:39.32 from this weekend puts her at #1 amongst Georgia High School girls times this season.

I am getting the sense that we are going to see another epic Catholic school showdown this season. The Golden Lions made some big moves this week. This team benefits from having a strong 1-3 that almost saw all three girls break the 19:00 barreir this past weekend. 10:25 3200 meter runner, Hannah Schemmel, made her season debut with an 18:57.86. Ultimately, the Golden Lions were 19 points off of a victory against Marist. You can expect this team to continue to build and get stronger as they inch closer to a coveted state championship.

Hello, Walton. Nice to see you here. The previously unranked Raiders have now joined the top ten list after a great showing at the Cobb County Championship. They placed third with a quick 19:43 average. Their strong team performance is making the 7A girls race look more interesting. It might be the most difficult classifcation amongst boys and girls to get on the podium this year. Anyhow, I have no idea what is in the Cobb County water; however, I might need some if I want to get faster.

Wow. The Warpath Invitational was stacked. North Hall drops slightly in the rankings. They placed third at the Warpath Invitational. Clodagh O'Bryant and Jessie Dubnik led the charge as both were close to breaking 19:00 The team recorded a fast 19:49 average. They will be competing at the Hall County Championship and then the following week, they will make a trip to Charlotte, North Carolina to race at McAlpine. You can expect they will chase some season best and personal best times on that course.

Blessed Trinity went from running what might be the fastest course in the state at their season opener to running at the most difficult course in the state at the Milton XC Invitational. Regardless, the hills and other complexities of the Milton course were not a deterrent as they got the win in a 21:31 average. Blessed Trinity will be running at the Wingfoot XC Classic. They will have the opportunity to compete against fellow 6A and Catholic school rivals, Marist and Saint Pius X, who they have not seen this season.

The Brookwood Lady Broncos ran well at the Gwinnett County Championship. They won the meet in a 20:31 average with a very close challenge from county rivals, Parkview High School. "Dynamic Duo," Allie Wardle and Macy Felton, led the charge going 2 and 3 as individuals in one of the most competitive county races in the state. The teams remains undefeated and this was their biggest challenge so far. I am not sure what their next big race; however, we will see them compete at Coach Wood.

Hillgrove joins in on the "Cobb County Takeover" of the all-class girls rankings. They most recently had good showings at the Carrollton Orthopaedic Invitational where they placed 2nd and the Cobb County Championship where they placed 4th. This is a deep team with a 1-5 that is completely interchangable. Every week that they have raced, it has been a diffent order. They are definitely a talented team and I think it helps significantly that they already got some racing experience this season on the Carrollton hills, and performed well.

South Forsyth placed second at the Milton XC Invitational. Following that, the Eagles travelled out of state and competed at the Southern Showcase. They finished 14th overall with a 20:05.25 average. The Yonas Sisters continue to be a force to be reckoned with. Carmel Yonas ran a speedy 18:32.47. Her time ranks here 6th overall in the sate amongst varsity girls times.
