2021 Georgia XC High School Meet of Champions Update

The selection committee for the Meet of Champions have been inviting most of the teams and some of the individuals' with early invites the last few weeks. To review, the Meet of Champions will take place on Saturday, November 13th and will be held in Fayetteville, GA at One Church 2130 Redwine Road, Fayetteville, GA 30215 as in years past! The meet will be followed by the USA Track & Field Georgia Youth Championship meet that same afternoon for ages 8-18.

This date is about halfway between State and the post season XC weekend (NXR and Footlocker).

The selection committee has sent out early selections at this time and are looking forward to putting on the best meet possible for Georgia Cross Country.

The Meet of Champions races will feature your top teams from the state meet along with the next highly ranked teams and the top-20-25 individuals not on those teams. ALL state championship winning teams will be invited to compete in the meet

In addition to the MOC races, we will again have Open high school races!

If your athletes are going to a post season meet and need a tune up race and did not make the Meet of Champions field, this would be a great option for them.

There will be more teams that are being considered for receiving an invitation & will receive an invite in the coming weeks (post Region/State).

Schedule for Nov 13th

o 8:00 am Boys MOC- invitation only

o 8:30 am Girls MOC - invitation only

o 9:05am Boys MOC - Open race

o 9:35am Girls MOC- Open race

o 10:10am Awards of MOC Invite & open

o 10:45am Awards completed

Time to clear out athletes, fans, tents, parking; USATF arrival of athletes, fans & tents

12:00noon USATF Youth meet starts
