Justin Wachtel still can't stop thinking about his last lap at the Wingfoot Night of Champions.

"I have a chance, and I didn't want to waste that chance," he said.

Many would describe it as 'unbelievable.'

In this telestration, Wachtel shared his ultimate game plan for his race and how quickly he had to chase after the victory after a handful of unexpected events.

This was one of the top memorable races he's ever competed in. The icing on the cake, he said, was running a lifetime best of 4:08.29.

Looking ahead, he will be competing at the RunningLane Championships from June 11-12 in Madison, Alabama.

But he said the Georgia State Track and Field Championships and the Wingfoot Night of Champions boosted his confidence for the remainder of the season before he begins his collegiate career at the University of Virginia.
