A blast from the past, Girls 4x100 relay back in 2019 at the meet.
The Eagle's Landing Chick Fil A Invitational has become a highly competitive meet. It began 10 years ago hosted by Eagles Landing Christian School. With the exception of 2017-2019, ELCA has been the host venue for the popular meet. Last season it was canceled two days before it was to occur thanks to COVID-19 (which is still around, though people have begun to get vaccinated in Georgia. It's going to quite the extravaganza this Saturday as 30 schools and 732 athletes are registered to compete. MileSplit Georgia will be onsite shooting photos and all the action on the track.
It was difficult to call a team favorite out on the boy's side, but Pace could score big in the distance events, short sprints, and longer relays. Below are the top athletes who are entered into the meet to keep a lookout for in their events. Bradley Favors of Stephenson and John Catherman of Pace (in bold below) are currently ranked #1 all-classes in those events. The 1600m run should be a tight race with the Blaha twins from Pace and 6A State XC champ Jonathan Greene from Evans.

Top HS Girls to Watch:
For the girl's competition, 5A Chapel Hill is going to be hard to keep pace with having speed, hurdlers, relays, and strength in the field. The elite athletes registered to race are Simone Rojas from Evans HS in the 1600/3200m run. A Private State XC champ Kiley Murphy of Brookstone School (Columbus) should give Rojas a good race. There are four triple jumpers soaring around 35-0, including 100m dash favorite Derica Price of Chapel Hill. Malahne Walker of Chapel Hill is a double threat in the Pole Vault coming in with a bar of 11-6 and should contend in the Long Jump. Kassidy Amerson-Fox could double in the throws events
