Defending State Champs return 6 sub 14:30 runners from last year's State Championships. They opened with a convincing victory over other MS teams at home meet (Rock). Malcom Bridge is a team with two strong wins to start the season. They have 6 strong runners to make a good core. Jefferson has 8 elite runners who pack run and while they have been beaten this year, one wonders if that was on purpose as they are getting stronger as a team. Dacula started 3 for 3 including a win in a crowded N GA Championships, however depth could be an issue. Pace has been the top middle school at 3 meets, but they need to develop a 5th runner. Lake Oconee Academy has three wins in a row, but small squad has no room for error. Holy Innocents returns 8 sub 14:30 runners from last season's State Championship squad. In their only race, they barely lost to Pace in home dual. Buford, Evans, and Taylor Road all have had some strong showings to open the year. Million dollar question is whether or not Marist will compete this year. The medium schools' 2019 runner up has yet to debut this season.
