Girls - And just like that we got through 5 weeks of racing and we're still going strong, so it's time to do some rankings! We pick up almost where we left off last year. 3 Catholic schools sit at the top again, but in a brand new order. Blessed Trinity appears to be the top dog this year after some dominant early season wins. St. Pius and Marist had yet another close battle and sit at 2-3 on our list. And Mcintosh showed that 5A girls will be no walk in the park this year and sits at 4th after almost averaging under 20:00 at AT&T. Marietta is making a strong case as the 7A favorites after 2 good wins in early September. Right behind them are Cobb county rivals Hillgrove and Pope. Hillgrove coming off their first ever state title looks poised to contend again. And Pope looks ready to go get their own win in 6A after two very strong outings at Cobb and Ortho. Parkview barely beat out Mill Creek in a classic battle of front runners versus depth and rounding out our top 10 is Lambert who hasn't been flashy, but has shown consistency and depth could lead them to big things in November. The watch list will be a little bigger early on in the year. And I suspect there's 1-2 teams missing from it for now that could make our list soon, most notably Westminster who we know is always good.
Watch List: South Forsyth, Walton, Harrison, Jefferson, Pace, Starrs Mill, Oconee County.
