Here are the winners of the top throwers of the past decade contest that will be advancing to the 'best track and field athlete' of the past decade in September. Janae Profit of Dunwoody HS unleashed a huge throw of 157-04 in the Discus this past February at the Big Mouth-Shuma Signs Archer Invitational. This monster toss rocketed her all the way up to #2 on the Georgia All-time list on GATFXCCA. Though the 2020 track season was cut short by COVID-19, the senior still has one more season to challenge for the top spot.

Daniel Haugh was a great discus and shot thrower back at St. Pius X. But, he soon developed into an even better hammer thrower. Haugh, a redshirt senior and off-season transfer from Alabama, won the hammer throw in 2019 at the NCAA Division 1 championships in Austin, Texas. It marked Kennesaw State's first national title since the university moved up to the Division I ranks in 2006. Haugh's winning toss was 244 feet, 10 inches, making him the first athlete from the ASUN Conference to win an NCAA track and field title.
The Marietta-born Haugh, who graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School in Atlanta, became the first Kennesaw State men's outdoor track and field athlete to earn first-team All-America honors. Coach Mike Judge of Throw1deep was a big factor in Haugh's success.
