Georgia HS Girls Top 250 Millenials In Pole Vault

In the beginning (early 2000's), there was a time when a Georgia HS girl vaulting 9-0 was quite an accomplishment. It beckons back to the stone ages when Georgia HS girls basketball was a 3 on 3 affair contested on 2 different halves of the court until around the mid 70's when Girls began to go 5 on 5 full court like the boys. It took a couple of years, but when girls vaulters began to get inverted.. the event changed dramatically for the better. Early on, girls who were gymnasts and competition cheerleaders had an advantage over others with their tumbling skills. But soon, girls with speed/strength became daredevils like their male counterparts. 

Carson Dingler (above)was reaching for the stars in the Pole Vault as MS athlete at First Presbyterian Day School in Macon. She was a young woman amongst girls having a pr of 12-01. Like most big jumpers there were peaks and valleys with a peak of 13-0 at Golden South her frosh season. Its a matter of increasing a few inches a year at this point, and her senior year she hit 13-11.25 at the IAAF World U20 Championships. Carson's pr at UGA was 13-9.50 thru her sophomore season. 

Payton Phillips

Payton Phillips of Carrollton HS was well on track to become the #1 All-Time HS Girls vaulter in Georgia until COVID-19 shut down the USA and Georgia. Only a junior, Phillips has been a phenom having a pr of 13-7 in 2019. She had a MS pr of 11-7.50, but has steadily been climbing upwards since. For top vaulters it's hit it big or miss (like Jordan Scott) but look for Phillips to surge her senior season to more aspiring heights.
