1) What were some of the highlights of your high school track and field career?
The highlight of my high school track career was at the 2019 state finals where I won 300mh with a time of 36.97 putting me at GA #12 all time.
2) Did you encounter any struggles or adversity along the way that you had to overcome?
The challenges I faced during my career came from myself. My freshman and sophomore year I didn't finish how I wanted to at the state meet due to my own nerves and overthinking
3) Aside from the competition, what was the best thing about being a part of your school's program?
Track allowed me to build great relationships with teammates and my competitors.
4) Are there any coaches or teammates that you've worked with over the past four years that you'd like to thank?
I want to thank all my teammates and coaches but I would especially like to thank Coach Griffin and Coach Williams, they both have been great mentors for me on and off the track.
5) How are you coping with COVID-19 and the looming possibility that your HS track career might very well be over?
Even though my high school season might be over, I am upset, but I am looking at it as a glass half full. I have a load of accomplishments from the past 3 years to keep my mind at ease.
6) What are your plans and goals for the future? Do you intend on continuing with the sport in college or in another capacity?
Next year I am attending Mississippi State University on a full track scholarship to be a dual hurdler. I plan on majoring in business administration.
7) What advice would you give to a younger athlete who's hoping to have a successful and enjoyable high school career?
Never give up on the sport, and just keep working hard to be your best self on and off the track and the times will come.
