5A boys is wide open. Probably as wide open as any classification/gender per one of our esteemed Rankers has been involved in.. A couple of teams that aren't near the top of the virtual meet/returner's rankings will make some noise too. It could be a very exciting year for this Class. Starr's Mill came back strong at State last Fall and turned the tables on Region 3 foe McIntosh taking the title by 15 points. But, the Panthers graduated their top 4 runners and must rely on their strong JV's to make a run at defending their title. Their top returner is Matt Norton who placed 36th at State. McIntosh lost a couple of big guns, especially in Zach Jaeger, but the Chiefs do return 5 of their top 7 putting them in the catbird seat led by Junior Alex Deboy who placed 13th at State and Gabe Peacock.
